About

I started out in nursing as an LPN in 2007.  I continued with my educational goals and ultimately achieved my DNP in 2012.  I've had the opportunity to work in a wide variety of areas including skilled nursing facilities, correctional health, trauma critical care, and infectious disease.  I am currently practicing as an FNP in a bariatric surgery practice.

I am passionate about educating professionals that are well prepared for all the challenges in healthcare today.  This includes expanding the knowledge base, modeling compassionate care, and encouraging professional development and advocacy.

Although my professional life as a Nurse Practitioner and professor is extremely important to me, my family is my most important life's work. Nothing brings me greater joy than spending time with my five children.
